After two weeks away then I was happy to observe some aurora this evening! I watched a great display from the plane on my flight pretty much all the way to Iceland from Scotland, but after landing in Iceland it was the usual battle with clouds! We stopped briefly between Keflavik and Reykjavik to take some photographs across the sea, with the clouds (lit orange by light pollution from the cities) obscuring most of the aurora.
