There was a nice aurora this evening, but it was located to the north and very low in the sky. My view of the furthest activity was blocked by mountains to my north, but I saw a nice arc from 22:35 UTC until I went home at midnight. The activity was generally faint, appearing a whitish-green to my eyes and without much movement, although the camera saw it as a clear green. There is also a faint and diffuse band of purple on top of the green arc in the images. The aurora did not change much over the time that I observed it. Occasionally it brightened slightly and a few isolated taller rays briefly appeared, but then it returned to the same faint uniform arc structure. Note that the images below were shot at ISO 3200 so the colour and intensity appear much stronger on the images than they did to my naked eye.

Image 1. 22:35 UTC. Taken at: ISO = 3200, f/2.8 @ 14 mm, exposure = 17 sec. Looking north/north-west.

Image 2. 23:43 UTC. Taken at: ISO = 3200, f/2.8 @ 14 mm, exposure = 17 sec. Looking north/north-west.

Image 3. 23:49 UTC. Taken at: ISO = 3200, f/2.8 @ 14 mm, exposure = 11 sec. Looking north.
