Aurora diary: October 8th 2018

This evening was somewhat cloudy, but nevertheless I could see a low arc of aurora across the northern sky shining through the cloud gaps. It was visible on camera from 20:19 UTC, and also as a glow to the naked eye from 20:58. I watched until 21:31 when the cloud thickened at my location and we gave up and went home. However, the aurora was still active at that time.
